SECTION OVERVIEW
Message. Delivered.
Textity — the Textity SMS Platform — is a service that allows businesses to connect with their customers via SMS. This allows immediate notifications, delivered in real time, with customizable branding on their Sender IDs.
It was built in 2012 to bridge multiple SMS aggregator connections into a single API, allowing bulk SMS sending through Kannel or an SMS gateway — one integration instead of one per carrier.
FEATURES
What it does
MT SMS via API and local telco gateway
Mobile-terminated messaging — your system calls the API, the message reaches the handset through a local gateway.
MO SMS via local telco gateway
Mobile-originated messaging, so a recipient can reply and the reply routes back into your application.
Voice, SMS automations and programming services
Scheduled sends, triggered sequences and voice, built around whatever your operation already runs on.
IN PRACTICE
Why SMS still wins
No app to install, no data connection required, and it reaches any handset — which is why it remains the channel for messages that genuinely cannot be missed.
Immediate notifications
Delivered in real time rather than batched — the difference between a parent knowing now and knowing this evening.
Customisable Sender IDs
The message arrives branded as you, not as a number nobody recognises. Recipients act on messages they can place.
Groups and scheduling
Address a whole group in one send, or schedule it ahead — an advisory going out at 5am does not need someone awake at 5am.
IN THE FIELD
What it has carried
Using our API, the client routes messages from the Internet to our global carriers, which deliver to the local telecommunication company of the subscriber. In practice that has meant school advisories, emergency notices and local government broadcasts.

THE LAYER BENEATH
What Textity carries
Textity is the messaging layer under our own products. When OpenGKS records a student through the gate, it is Textity that puts the alert on the parent’s phone; when GetMe answers a location request by text, the reply travels the same way. Schools use it directly for advisories — class suspensions, weather, emergencies — where reaching everyone within minutes is the whole point.
